The renovation of the Student Publication Building is almost complete. Below are recent photos of the progress that has been made in updating the building. Click on the images to view full size images.
The former Michiganensian office and the future office suite. The General Manager’s office will be in the corner where Stacy, the general contractor’s project manager is on the phone.
The new board room which will be located on the 1st floor. Note the barrel lights in the ceiling. There will also be a small kitchenette at one end of the room.
The LU/LA (elevator) entrance in the second floor lobby.
The Daily News Room. New ceiling, new lighting, new fans, same windows.

A new conference room replaces the former board office.
Another conference room has been constructed where Sports and Photo used to be located in the main newsroom area.
The former back stairs are gone since they did not meet the building code, but it provides a better view out the southern window. The railings are being reused as decorations.
A new fire-rated rear stairway is located where the business senior staff office was. The colored panels will be used for displaying awards and memorabilia.
Inside the larger news conference room. The windows are a tighter fit so we won’t feel the wind blowing.

The Gargoyle office has moved to the second floor. We need to replace the Gargoyle head in the glass panel.
