'M' icers corral Broncos, 3-1
The Michigan hockey team got what it wanted, just not the way it wanted. The Wolverines wanted to avenge two losses to Western Michigan during their 1995-96 championship season, which they did with a 3-1 victory last night in front of 6,210 fans at Yost Arena.
This time, Turco is the savior
Last season, Michigan goaltender Marty Turco left Yost Ice Arena with a 7-2 loss to Western Michigan in the Wolverines' home opener on Oct. 20. It was Turco's worst performance on home ice. The seven goals were the most an opponent scored all year at Yost Ice Arena.

This year's Michigan men's gymnastics team will be sporting a new look. The Wolverines have a new head coach and assistant coach, 10 freshmen and transfer students, and a newly-refurbished practice facility. Michigan's tumblers are certainly hoping that all this novelty will work to their advantage.
Grapplers head to Vegas
The Michigan wrestling team will travel to Las Vegas this weeked, but the wrestlers won't have much time to bet at the craps tables. The Las Vegas Classic is the Wolverines' first team tournament of the season, and they will spend most of the trip on the wrestling mats.
Blue tankers look to dominate at Miami Invitational
They have a 4-0 record. They've beaten three Big Ten foes. But as far as the members of the Michigan women's swim team are concerned, none of that is as important as the three-day Miami Invitation which begins tonight in Oxford, Ohio.
