Michigan needs to focus this weekend
Short of actually playing for Purdue, there can't be much worse than having to go to West Lafayette to compete.
If you then sandwich the game between contests against Michigan State and Penn State, like Michigan is doing this weekend, you have a somewhat fearful football coach.
Colletto quits job as Purdue coach
The Boilermakers are 2-6 this season. Colletto, who came to Purdue in December 1990, compiled a 20-40-3 record in six seasons. He will coach the final three games this season, and the resignation will be effective when a new coach is hired.
"I've decided that the timing is right for me to step aside as head coach at the end of this season. I am tired and I'm concerned for my health," Colletto said in a statement released through the Purdue sports information office.
Switcheroo sparks Legg
Michigan coach Red Berenson was not getting the productivity he wanted from senior center Mike Legg.
So last week, he swapped Legg and sophomore wing Greg Crozier to shake things up.
'M' soccer game about as suspenseful as political race
The 1996 presidential election might turn out to be like Michigan's 7-0 victory against Valparaiso on Sunday.
The Wolverines had easily won the game long before it officially ended.
Pressure and expectations too much for Michigan men's tennis
Sometimes being No. 1 isn't all it's cracked up to be. Because often along with sitting on top comes a lot of pressure. For the Michigan men's tennis team, the pressure was too much.
Ranked highest going into the Division IV Championship, the Wolverines had very high expectations.
Cal, Arizona play longest OT game
The longest game in major college history ended with a daring gamble that backfired, giving the Bears a 56-55 win Saturday.
"Even though this is a devastating feeling, someday someone will say that's the greatest college football game ever played," said Arizona coach Dick Tomey, who gambled and lost. "I guess it's better than both teams walking off the field talking to themselves."
