The Michigan Hall of Honor will induct nine former Michigan athletes tomorrow.

The Hall of Honor was founded in 1978, striving to honor athletes, coaches and administrators who have made meaningful additions to the University through their athletic endeavors.

This year's new honorees are Daniel Dierdorf, football; Leonard Ford Jr., football; John Tidwell II, basketball; David Debol, ice hockey; Stephen Boros Jr., baseball; Diane M. Dietz, basketball; Mark Churella, wrestling; Elaine Crosby, tennis and golf; Raymond Senkowski, tennis.

Former Michigan offensive lineman Dierdorf's voice can be heard weekly on ABC-TV's "Monday Night Football." He was an All-American, winning three all-conference awards. He was an NFL All-Pro for the St. Louis Cardinals and was just recently inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Playing in a different era, Ford was a member of the Wolverines' 1947 national championship football team. He played for the Cleveland Browns and the Green Bay Packers, participating in four Pro Bowls.

While Ford excelled on the field, Tidwell played for the Michigan men's basketball team, scoring 1,386 points.

Another prolific scorer, Debol is one of the Wolverines' top five hockey scorers. In his Michigan career, Debol racked-up 112 goals and 134 assists for 246 points. He was the Wolverines' MVP and named to the First-Team All-America as a junior.

As a third baseman, Boros earned All-Big Ten honors in 1957. He played major league baseball with the Detroit Tigers, the Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds. Boros also managed the Oakland A's and the San Diego Padres.

While Boros was running around the bases, women's basketball player Dietz won GTE Academic All-America honors three times and was Michigan's first female winner of the Big Ten Medal of Honor. She currently holds the women's basketball record for points with 2,076.

Wrestler Churella won the Outstanding NCAA Wrestler award in 1978. He returned to the Wolverines as an assistant wrestling coach from 1984-87.

Beginning her athletic career in tennis, Crosby began playing golf at 20 and joined the Ladies Professional Golf Association tour in 1984, winning two LPGA events.

Tennis player Senkowski was an All-American from 1961-63. In 1961, he won the singles conference title and the doubles conference title with Wayne Peacock.
