Committee unveils list of prospects for 'U' president
Sexual assaults raise safety awareness
It could be the rustling sound of leaves or a sudden movement in a nearby
bush.
Whatever the cause, many University students have experienced some uneasiness
when walking around campus. Some may dismiss the feelings as part of an
overactive imagination, but for others the reality of the sounds may be more
frightening.
Male students seen as potential attackers
"It's unfortunate that there is one person who ruins it for the entire (male)
sex," said Engineering first-year student Scott Latham.
"I know girls who hear about sexual assaults and generalize all men are like
that, and I know girls who may think it'll never happen to them," Latham said.
N. Campus bell tower dedicated
Laser lights and fireworks illuminated the sky, and the sound of bells filled the
air, making North Campus look like a scene from Close Encounters of the Third
Kind last night. All the excitement was in honor of the dedication of the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Tower.
Man not charged with attacks
The Ann Arbor Police Department charged a man yesterday on three counts,
including armed robbery and felony firearm possession, but said they did not have
enough evidence to charge him with two other recent attacks.
The police first arrested the 31-year-old Ann Arbor man Tuesday morning in
connection with four recent incidents.
