If there's a coaching edge, Carr says it's Colorado's

A healthy dose of humility is essential in any profession, but coaching may require a little more than most. Michigan coach Lloyd Carr proved he wasn't lacking when asked to comment on his coaching counterpart in this weekend's contest, Colorado coach Rick Neuheisel.

Blue women's soccer uses calm before storm

The start of the 1996 Michigan women's soccer season seems more like new student orientation. LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - While Byron Hanspard was going by a lot of Oklahoma State tacklers, he was also passing some very impressive names of great running backs. The junior tailback from Texas Tech ran for 272 yards Saturday at Texas Stadium, a yardage figure not reached by the likes of Eric Dickerson, Tony Dorsett and Emmitt Smith, each of whom has called that building home at one time or another.
