The right to privacy

Personal information is an individual's to keep and only reveal to someone else when absolutely necessary. So, when credit card companies solicit students all over campus offering free T-shirts in exchange for social security numbers, students should think twice. Students must give their personal information to the University when they register - they do not have a choice. University students have to trust that the the registrar will secure the information.

M-Card malaise

The University introduced the M-Card last fall with the promise of simplicity, convenience and a new way of doing business. One year later, it's time to review this "smart card."
