Will he or won't he? Report: Taylor will declare for NBA Draft soon

The rumors about Michigan basketball player Maurice Taylor's decision whether to enter the NBA Draft got a little more interesting yesterday. The Detroit News quoted a source close to Taylor's family saying that the junior forward would forgo his final year of eligibility and make himself eligible for the draft.

Captain Beermann braces for Central

When the Michigan baseball team (7-2 Big Ten, 17-12 overall) faces Central Michigan today at Ray Fisher Stadium at 3 p.m., it will be counting on many things to lead it to victory. It will need offensive production and consistent pitching from the staff.

'M' to play 2 today

It's the calm after the storm for the Michigan softball team. Literally. The storm was a snow storm that hit Iowa City this past weekend, canceling the second game of a twinbill scheduled for Sunday afternoon against Iowa.

Crew steers off course

At this weekend's San Diego Classic, the Michigan women's crew team wanted to prove that it could compete with the top crews in the country. The Wolverines needed to finish in the top three to make the grand final. With 250 meters remaining, Michigan was trailing only Washington and Massachusetts when an oar became caught under the boat, sending it off of the course and ending any hope of making the grand final.

Spring ball for purists

As he stood outside the Schembechler Hall training room Saturday, Jon Jansen - big, 6-foot-7, 290-pound Jon Jansen - let out a hearty laugh. He's a football purist, and spring practice is as pure as it gets. "This is fun," said Jansen, already a starter on the offensive line. "There's no pressure, so you can just come out and hit and have fun."
