It's the civil war of Michigan softball: Michigan versus Michigan State.
The two Big Ten rivals will battle for state bragging rights at 1 p.m. today at Alumni Field.
'M' needs pitching to pick up pace tonight
As most students eagerly anticipate a summer break away from classes, the Michigan baseball team is also looking forward to a break - a break from games.
The Wolverines will play Notre Dame at 7 p.m. tonight in Grand Rapids at Old Kent Park, and because of final exams, they originally didn't have another game scheduled until May 1 against Eastern Michigan. Michigan has added an April 27 home doubleheader with Siena Heights, but will still do more practicing than playing over the next two weeks.

''My comments were not intended to be racially derogatory, and I apologize for the fact that they were misconstrued in that fashion,'' Zoeller said in a statement released by his agent.
Former 'Bama coach Stalling injured in stable accident
PARIS, Texas (AP) - Former Alabama football coach Gene Stallings remained hospitalized yesterday after he was trampled by three horses on his ranch.
He was listed in good condition at St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center after undergoing surgery to repair a fractured hip on Sunday.
