Subtle, confident moves mark Bollinger's reign
Perhaps it is difficult to judge a University president who hopes to leave his mark with intangible achievements. Lee Bollinger stepped into the presidency 10 months ago seeking to build confidence in the University's commitment to academic excellence.
Bowl tickets available a day early
In an attempt to calm students who fear long lines when they pick up their Rose Bowl tickets in Pasadena, officials have extended the time period when the ticket window will be open.
The nearly 6,000 students, faculty, and staff who purchased tickets through the University can now get their tickets at 8 a.m. on Dec. 30, one day earlier than first announced.
'Messiah' celebrated at reception
The young women of Martha Cook residence hall became the center of attention yesterday evening as they served as escorts for some of the University's top administrators, faculty and staff.

The newlyweds had hoped to spend their honeymoon at the 1948 Rose Bowl to cheer the Wolverines to victory when they were still students at the University. Due to time constraints and the more enforced study habits of that time period, they were unable to take time off from school.
Sororities to vote on new alcohol policy
A new bring-your-own-beverage policy will be signed tomorrow night by several University sororities.
"I'm really proud of the way (the sororities) have taken the problem and tried to eradicate it," said Panhellenic President Shelby Brown.
Convicted MSU rapist given retrial: Appellate court temporarily clears former student of 1994 rape
The Michigan Court of Appeals granted a new trial to a former Michigan State University student who was convicted of raping an incoming MSU first-year student during the school's opening Welcome Week in 1994.
The appellate court temporarily cleared the defendant, Michael Ivers on Thursday, because what the judges viewed as crucial testimony from the alleged rape victim was ruled inadmissible during the course of the original trial.
