The University Board of Regents will travel to the University's Flint campus today to conduct its monthly meeting.
Among the items on the agenda, Flint Chancellor Charlie Nelms is scheduled give the board an update of his campus.
Regent Olivia Maynard (D-Flint) said she is excited to have the board visit her hometown.
"I'm really pleased," Maynard said. "It's always wonderful to have people come to Genesee County."
Maynard said Nelms is going to discuss plans, which the regents have already approved, to construct a building across the river from the Flint campus.
Michigan Student Assembly President Mike Nagrant is scheduled to speak to the board about the 1997/98 Michigan Student Assembly fee assessment, on which the regents will be voting.
"I think that it was democratically mandated and the regents should respect and support that," Nagrant said.
The board will be approving or rejecting fees supported by the student body in MSA's fall and winter elections.
Nagrant said Olga Savic, the assembly's vice president, will be joining him to speak about some of the MSA fees coming before the regents.
Acting Vice President for Research Frederick Neidhardt is scheduled to discuss the importance of research in undergraduate education.
Also, the regents are scheduled to review the status of the Diag renovations.
