Legal lessons: School patrol may threaten students' rights
High school students have legal rights during police interrogations - a fact that the Ann Arbor City Council should encourage in the city's public schools. On Monday, the city council approved a contract renewal between the city and the Ann Arbor Public Schools. The renewal will extend police presence at Huron and Pioneer high schools for three more years. While police presence may improve security at the schools, it is imperative that they do not impede on students' right to privacy.

When Ozone House, a counseling agency for homeless or runaway youth and their families, moves into their newly-acquired home at 1705 Washtenaw Ave., it appears that they will not be welcomed by their new neighbors with open arms and fresh baked goods.
