New York, New York! Michigan advances to NIT semis, beats Irish
NOTRE DAME - Wolverines aren't supposed to have luck like this. Especially in South Bend.
Brandun Hughes' running jumper from the foul line with 7.6 seconds left last night gave Michigan a 67-66 victory over Notre Dame, sending the Wolverines to New York City for the NIT semifinals. Michigan (22-11) will play Arkansas on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.
Under big pressure, Big Guy on to Big Apple
NOTRE DAME - The Big Guy is going to the Big Apple. Although Michigan center Robert Traylor is probably not going to take the rest of the Wolverines on his back and carry them to New York City next week, I don't think anyone would be surprised if he did.

Blue women in 6th after 1st day
INDIANAPOLIS - Caught between a tree and a cactus, the Wolverines are finding themselves in trouble.
Five-time defending national champion Stanford, with its tree mascot, is in the lead after one day of the NCAA women's swimming and diving championships at IUPUI Natatorium with 132 points. Arizona's cactus is close behind at 125.5.
'M' hopes to find pitching at Purdue
What could be better than a spring trip to West Lafayette? Well, probably most anything short of teeth extraction. But the Michigan baseball team doesn't have a choice. The Wolverines (9-7) will open the Big Ten season at Purdue (6-9) today at 3 p.m.
Blue tennis to take on No. 11 Illini
No more preseason tournaments, warm-weather invitationals or extended road trips. For the Michigan men's tennis team, it all comes down to this.
The Wolverines will begin their Big Ten season this weekend with matches at Illinois and Purdue. They will not be easy, especially against the 11th-ranked Illini, who will be looking to settle a score with the Wolverines on Saturday.
