Burglaries occur near campus

Two businesses, one on Eisenhower Place and another on Washtenaw Avenue, were broken into over the weekend, according to Ann Arbor Police Department reports.

Police believe the incident, which occurred in the 1100 block of Eisenhower Place, took place around 11 p.m. Friday night. Police were alerted by an alarm that sounded during the break-in. The unknown suspect broke a window and escaped with a laptop computer.

Police are not sure whether the Washtenaw incident, in which the suspect broke into an office, occurred last Thursday or Friday. The front door of the office had been forced open and computer equipment was taken. The incident occurred in the 2300 block of Washtenaw Avenue.

Disorderly conduct occurs at Bursley Hall

DPS officers visited Bursley Hall on North Campus twice on Saturday to keep two incidents from getting out of hand, according to DPS reports.

Around 3 a.m., several people ran down a corridor in Van Duren house, ripping down paper from bulletin boards as they sprinted down the hall, DPS reports state.

According to the reports, the subjects ran down a stairwell after damaging the hallway bulletin boards.

Later that afternoon, two men were standing between Hamilton and Sanford houses throwing snowballs at Sanford House windows, according to DPS reports.

Suspect enters laundry room from dryer

DPS reports state that someone entered the Fisher Stadium laundry room from a dryer either late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning last week.

The unknown suspect may have stolen some items from the laundry room, according to the reports. The incident was reported to DPS by a caller Friday morning, DPS reports state.

Panhandler stops traffic on Palmer

A woman was standing on Palmer Street collecting money from motorists and causing a traffic backup Friday evening, according to DPS reports.

The woman was standing near a parking structure, according to DPS reports.

The DPS unit that investigated the incident found no disturbances when it arrived.

Woman drives car into base of pole

A woman accidentally drove her van into the cement base of a light pole in a Kipke Drive parking lot Friday night, according to DPS reports.

The woman was not injured in the incident, but the van had about $2,000 worth of damage, according to DPS reports.

Since the vehicle was leaking radiator fluid, the woman left her car in the Kipke lot until the next day, DPS reports state.
