'M' alums hook up for Buffalo's winning touchdown

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - The Buffalo Bills, coming off a loss at home in their opener, beat the Jets 28-22 yesterday, their fifth straight win on New York's field and the 17th in the last 20 meetings.

In a game of big plays, Todd Collins made the most with three touchdown passes, looking as effective as Jim Kelly, the man he has replaced at quarterback for Buffalo. And the Bills' defense, led by Bryce Paup, had eight sacks.

Steve Tasker's 47-yard punt return, the longest of the 13-year veteran's career, set up Collins' 37-yard TD pass to Quinn Early for a 21-13 Bills lead in the third quarter.

Aaron Glenn fielded the ensuing kickoff, sped to the right sideline, broke through a cluster and went 96 yards for a touchdown. Adrian Murrell was stopped on a run for the 2-point conversion.

Former Michigan tight end Jay Riemersma caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Collins with 8:02 left in the game.

It was Riemersma's second reception on the season. Each of his catches have been for Buffalo touchdowns.
