In today's complicated and extremely touchy world of sexual politics, homophobia is no laughing matter - but who knew it could be so damn funny?
Homophobia, along with many other things, is hilarious in "In & Out," written by openly gay playwright Paul Rudnick, who takes everything remotely uptight or prejudiced about the world and makes it a dormant deer at an NRA convention.
Absurd 'Out' is definitely in
Yo La Tengo's Ira Kaplan wishes that "more people would follow their hearts." Or so he said in a recent interview with The Michigan Daily.
Kaplan, singer, guitarist and one-half of the husband-and-wife pair that accounts for two-thirds of the band's membership, is in many respects a textbook example of that ethic in practice: Though he began a career as a music writer, he really wanted to create rather than critique.

Richard Tillinghast's 6th collection of poetry, "Today in the Cafe Trieste" provides highlights from his long and varied career, spanning decades, subjects and poetic styles. The first section is a collection of new poems, while the second section encompasses selected poems from three previous volumes.
