Number crunching: Admissions should consider individuals

September marks the beginning of the University school year, the college football season and the annual admissions cycle. As applications from the class of 2002 slowly begin to trickle into the Undergraduate Admissions Office, administrators plan to review the policies that will determine which students get in.

An uphill battle: Homeless vets struggle for survival

During this period of national economic prosperity, it is important that the country help its citizens reach their full potential. However, many fall through the government's economic safety net. A segment of the U.S. population that is particularly distraught are homeless veterans.

Stand against the hatred that pervades the 'U' community

Just more than a week ago, the Queer Unity Project had a Diag board ripped down and stolen - presumably by people who did not agree with or support the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender members of our community. Not only targeting the group for an anonymous message of hatred, but stealing from the group and preventing QUP from spreading its beliefs of tolerance and acceptance to the University community.
