The suspect entered the bank around 2 p.m., demanded money from the teller, and fled the bank with an undisclosed amount. The Comerica branch is located in the Wolverine Tower building.
No one was injured in the incident and no weapon was seen.
DPS was unable to locate the suspect using a search dog and is asking anyone with information that may assist their investigation to call 763-1131.
The passengers, Donald Kimpel and Richard Wells, allegedly got into a verbal altercation, which preceded the high-speed drive.
Wells was hanging off the truck while Kimpel attempted to throw him off.
The accident occurred near the 500 block of Packard Road, where Wells injured his head and was transported to the emergency room of University hospitals. Wells died 11 hours later.
AAPD spokesperson Sgt. Larry Jerue said the incident is an exception to most manslaughter cases because "this is the first (incident) I can recall in recent years where a subject has got on a vehicle and then subsequently been thrown from the vehicle," he said.
A caller, who was not injured, reported to DPS that the pellets were coming from the Willard side of the residence hall.
After the driver was cut off, both vehicles pulled over and discussed the incident.
The pizza driver told the caller that his "gang" would take care of him, according to DPS reports.
The caller reported that both suspects were wearing green shirts.
One of the suspects had sunglasses on inside the library, and the other suspect was wearing jeans with chains on the legs and had a cigarette hanging from behind his ear, the caller reported.
The caller told DPS that her friend was in pain after experiencing a spasm in the lower part of her body.
The friend had screamed and lost consciousness from the pain, the caller told DPS.
The University Emergency Medical Service was dispatched to the scene, according to DPS reports.
