October will be a good month for the few and dedicated Mary Lou Hoekstra fans as, on the anniversary of her death, her final work, "Saul of Tarsus," will hit the shelves.
"Saul of Tarsus" is the last - and presumably lost - installment of Hoekstra's "Loose Trilogy."
M.L. Hoekstra's 'Tarsus' is a divine revelation
If you're looking for bravura filmmaking, look no further than "Snake Eyes." This cynical mystery thriller set in an Atlantic City Casino and sports complex is some of Director/Producer Brian DePalma's best work.
Ironically, the one person that cannot be upstaged by the filmmaking of DePalma is Nicholas Cage, who plays Detective Ricky Santoro. Corrupt and gleeful, Cage plays Santoro with an acute hyperness. "I was made for this sewer baby!" he shouts as he and his best friend, Navy commander Kevin Dunne (Gary Sinise) attend a heavyweight boxing match.

How do you put the story of one man's obsessive quest across a vast ocean in search of a giant, elusive white whale on a theatrical stage? Well, in today's Broadway, you'd probably get huge, rotating sets, a mechanical, animatronic whale and have a lively musical score.
Second half saves Network's 'Moby'
Use "low budget" and "science fiction movie" together in the same sentence, and you might just get guffaws of laughter. Isn't that what "Mystery Science Theatre 3000" is all about? Making fun of cheesy, not-even-B movies that look like they were made with money saved up from three friends' paychecks over a couple of months?
Very little dough still makes great 'Pi'
It is incredible watching the development of the computer industry over the past 10 years.
More and more information can be stored and processed, and software is getting more sophisticated, as programmers scramble to squeeze every last ounce of information onto a CD-ROM disc.
'X-Files Game' is seven CDs of fun
The band's name is Bare Jr., and singer Bobby Bare, Jr. describes it as, "'southern' and 'rock,' but not 'southern rock'."
This is indeed true as the band embraces the sensibilities of both styles, resulting in an enjoyable pop-based brew of music. Based in Nashville, the group hopes to show that there is more to the Nashville music scene than just country and "southern rock.
Bare Jr. shakes 'Boo-Tay'
After just having released a new album earlier in the summer, and gaining significant radio air time with the hit single "Everything for Free," it would seem that Belgium sensation k's Choice could sell out Pontiac's 7th House.
Unfortunately, just over half the 400 spaces were filled to see the sister and brother combination of Sarah and Gert Betten. And those who skipped out on the performance missed a great show.
