Don't Rain on My Parade

Detroit isn't the only city where thousands of spectators fill the streets every Thanksgiving morning. Despite inclement weather, crowds eagerly gathered for the 1998 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in Manhattan, New York. Families arrived at the sidelines hours before the beginning of the event to secure good viewing spots.The annual tradition's excitement was not dampened by the rain, as children, adults, and clowns were entertained by a kaleidoscope of floats, marching bands and characters of all sorts.
