Parade made official: Procession scheduled for Sunday
Nothing can rain on the Wolverines' parade.
In honor of the Michigan football team's Rose Bowl victory and national championship title, the Athletic Department will hold a parade Sunday, an event that officials hope will bring more than 100,000 fans to Ann Arbor.

As concern for global warming continues to rise, most scientists agree that the Earth's climate is changing.
But the causes of this problem are not as clear. While many experts believe that global warming is a result of man-made greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere, others maintain that such changes are a natural occurrence.
Exhibit traces the Bible's history with classic texts
Artists, those studying Greek and Latin, and religious people hoping to confirm their faith are among those who have visited "From Papyri to King James," a historical exhibit created by the University Special Collections Library.
The exhibit displays texts from as early as the year 119. and traces the transmission of the English Bible to the King James version of 1611.
'U' task force seeks change in training program
Attempting to ensure a safer training regimen for Michigan wrestlers after the death of teammate Jefferey Reese, an internal Athletic Department task force has released a series of recommendations that intend to improve the sport.
"We established the task force to focus on how we can make the sport safer," said Athletic Director Tom Goss in a written statement released with the task force's seven suggestions. "With these recommendations, we have come up with steps we will implement immediately at Michigan.
Popular 'U' prof. must take a term off
To the chagrin of students and himself, history Prof. Sidney Fine will not teach his popular U.S. history course this semester.
An unexpected illness is preventing the former winner of the Golden Apple Award from performing his normal teaching duties this semester. Over winter break, Fine's doctor advised that he not continue teaching this semester. He was slated to teach History 467: U.
Trade Center bomber sentenced
NEW YORK- Ramzi Ahmed Yousef, the terrorist convicted of masterminding and helping to carry out the deadly 1993 World Trade Center bombing, was sentenced yesterday to 240 years in prison with the highly unusual recommendation from the judge that he be kept in solitary confinement for the rest of his life.
Economy risks deflation
WASHINGTON (AP) - Prices paid by wholesalers last year recorded the sharpest decline since the 1986 oil collapse, and analysts said a flood of cheap imports from Asia could produce more deflation at the wholesale level this year.
"Inflation is notable by its absence ... Like Elvis, it's left the stage," said economist Bob Dederick of Northern Trust Co. in Chicago.
Study: consistent use of birth control pill vital to prevention
Birth control pills are a common form of contraception among women, and a recent study indicates that consistent use of the pill is vital to pregnancy prevention.
School of Nursing Prof. Deborah Oakley collaborated with researchers from Nursing and Family Health International, a research firm in North Carolina. The study evaluated 103 women, who kept a diary of when they had sex and the contraceptives they used.
Environmental group sells recycled notebooks
Thanks to the student environmental group ENACT, many students will find themselves gazing at anything from leprechauns to tigers while in class.
Sitting in a booth decorated with cereal box covers, ENACT members sold recycled paper this week in the Michigan Union. The notebooks were scheduled to be sold through today, but ENACT sold out of them Wednesday afternoon, which disappointed some students.

The Indian American Student Association is getting ready to host the second annual Midwestern Indian American Students Conference. The conference, which begins tonight and will run until Sunday, focuses on education, activism and the impact that Indian Americans can have on their community.
