Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. are constantly being put to the test, members of the University community annually band together to put the reverend's beliefs into action. The 11th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Symposium, run by students and faculty at the University provides education and hopes to change the way people live.

The University chapter of the Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action by Any Means Necessary (BAMN) was founded in September, when rumors surfaced that a lawsuit challenging the University's admissions policies was looming.
