In its 10th year, students still choosing UROP
The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program celebrates its 10th year of expanding education using the world of research for first- and second-year students.
Research partnerships between undergraduate students and faculty members in the fields of Bio-medicine, Humanities, Science/Engineering and Social Science permit historically underrepresented minority group and women students to reach into their community or discipline through firsthand experience.

Clouds and cool weather did not keep University students from enjoying barbecues and fireworks during the Fourth of July on Saturday.

'U' medical team travels to Guatemala to care for children
A team of University medical specialists will leave for Guatemala on August 1 to treat children with neurological disorders. The group, in conjunction with the Pediatric Foundation of Guatemala, is attempting to meet the medical needs of children whose families cannot afford such procedures.

Online degrees a possibility
Universities are expected to be on the cutting edge of technology, but in the state of Washington, a proposal by Gov. Gary Locke might make some universities actually become the cutting edge of technology.
The proposal, created by the governor's 2020 Commission of the Future of Higher Education, suggests the possibility that in the future, college degrees may be attained through online coursework. In response to the report, around 850 faculty members signed a petition in protest.
