Vote Bhatia, Linnear: Students' Party is best choice to lead LSA-SG

While advertisements and hype for the Michigan Student Assembly elections are rampant across the University's campus, each individual school or college is also holding elections for the leadership of their respective student governments. In the race for LSA student government - the body that represents the University's largest college - three parties are vying for control of the president and vice president positions.

Go vote!: Cast a ballot in the MSA elections this week

As the Michigan Student Assembly and other student governments' elections approach, the temptation to not vote may seem harmless. After all, the representatives probably do not hold the administration's attention and often seem unable to achieve their platforms. But the low number of students at the MSA paper and electronic polls make the assembly's voice less effective. If more students paid attention to the candidate's ideas and voted on the basis of their platforms and goals, the administration and government may listen more closely.

Greek Week is not what it appears to be

There's no question in my mind that hundreds of University students will make complete and utter fools of themselves, in public, this week. Jumping around in Jell-O, slamming french fries into their mouths, playing musical chairs and pinning each other in oversize Sumo suits, these students will no doubt seem childish, ridiculous and just plain stupid. I have not only seen it but have been one of those students, and I felt pretty stupid myself.
