'Seinfeld' series finale is sub-par

Perhaps nothing could have been satisfying after all the hype and secrecy built up around the last episode of "Seinfeld." In fact, nothing would have been satisfying. Nothing, as in the tiny details of everyday life, was what made the show great. But the season finale was about something, breaking an unfortunate precedent unrivaled for at least six of the show's nine years of existence.

Students say 'show about nothing' not much to watch

After months of patient waiting, the year's biggest event in television finally occurred last Thursday as "Seinfeld" signed off. As exciting as it was, the big finish didn't quite live up to the expectations of many students around campus

'X-Files' leaves fans anticipating film

After five seasons of the award-winning show "The X-Files," fans have come to expect a lot out of each episode. And week after week, they haven't been disappoiunted. The stories keep flowing and keep begging the question, "what if?"

Bad acting causes 'Creek' to sink

It's not everyday that within a group of four friends one loses a grandfather and finds God, one forms a bond with an imprisoned father, and one has an adolescent dream come to life. And it's not in every town that each citizen is capable of comfortably using a billion-word vocabulary.

'E.R.' doesn't disappoint

What's the difference between an "E.R." season finale and a regular episode? Not much. The show's final episode of the season offers nothing more or less than any other episode, and the character development and plot are as good as ever.

Sinatra still loved by fans

PALM SPRINGS (AP) - Dan the Beachcomber's and other Sinatra haunts are gone. But Sorrentino's is still thriving. A message on the side of the building speaks for many in this desert resort that Frank Sinatra called home for much of his life: "Frank Lives in Our Hearts.

Battle with 'Barracuda': The Barracuda

The Barracuda for the Sony Playstation makes Interact's entrance into the analog controller field. It is fully programmable and contains many other, more standard options such as slow motion and auto fire.

Gamers will love 'Card'

Tired of having to erase good memory card files to make room for new ones? Be sure to check out the Mega Memory Card from Interact. It stores up to 360 blocks of memory on 24 separate pages. The downside is that you'll have to keep a listing of where your files are located in order to keep track of them all. The card is generally reliable as long as the directions are followed properly.

'Horse Whisperer' is wonderful

Robert Redford's "The Horse Whisperer" is a stirring and passionately made film that definitively establishes Redford as one of today's most able directors. "The Horse Whisperer," based on the best-selling novel by Nicholas Evans, chronicles the psychological turmoil of the affluent, urban MacLean family.

Heyen heads to A2

In his new book of poetry, "Diana, Charles, & the Queen," William Heyen re-conceptualizes historical events, much like what he has done in the past with books like "Crazy Horse in Stillness," an interesting take on the story of Sitting Bull and General George Custer.
