Since the release of "Scream," the horror genre has receded from hard edged, gore movies to teen slasher flicks. "John Carpenter's Vampires" seemed as if it would be a welcome return of an old master to the genre that made him a legend.
'Vampires' does nothing but suck
At some point everyone gets paranoid. This usually feels ridiculous and comes in the form of checking to see if the
stove is on or the door is locked. But most people are not constantly checking everything for blood in fear of getting a
disease.

'Drive 5' passes the racing test: Test Drive: 5
Racing games must be both realistic and fun, a description that is hard to achieve. So far, there's been the great "Gran
Turismo," arguably the best racing game yet. "Test Drive: 4" was known as the best racing game of 1994, so "Test
Drive: 5" might just be the one that retires "Turismo."
'Godzilla' takes over video today
Victor Hugo spent many years writing thousands of pages for the book "Les Miserables" so that it could be turned into a musical and a massive T-shirt campaign. Recently, Hollywood decided that the musical format only works with Madonna or Woody Allen and turned the Broadway classic into a substandard movie.
Still looking to Rock
The Cincinnati-based Afghan Whigs fifth full-length record, "1965," is yet another sophisticated offering of neo-noir, groove-heavy theatrics from a group that for the past five years has been seemingly primed for that big time crossover into commercial superstardom.
Carter's not 'Alright'
Country music sweetheart and white trash female heroine Deana Carter returns with the follow-up to her multi platinum debut "Did I Shave My Legs for This?" Despite a couple of weak song choices "Everything's Going to be Alright" makes a bold statement.
Cardigans' 'Gran' tours trip-hop
A cardigan is a comfy, button-down sweater favored largely by the elderly.
The Cardigans is an equally comfy and buttoned-down Swedish band that enjoys pleasing people of all ages with its lounge-flavored pop-rock.
'Enter the Dru,' and experience a stellar production
Following the impact of a multi-platinum, internationally successful debut album is no easy task. But the members of superstar group Dru Hill have the challenge and surpassed expectations with their brilliant sophomore effort "Enter the Dru." This album displays the group's creative growth, as evidenced by its involvement in producing 13 of the 16 tracks, while still showcasing a unique style that has produced six No.
Lang wanders on his own
After releasing a hit record, being crowned a guitar prodigy and touring with the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and B.B. King, at age 17, Jonny Lang is ready to release his sophomore effort, "Wander This World."
Straying from heavy guitar rock, Lang sticks to his blues roots and adds healthy doses of funk, soul and R&B.
