Man ogles woman in West Quad shower

An unidentified male entered the women's bathroom on the third floor of West Quad Residence Hall on Wednesday morning, according to Department of Public Safety reports.

He proceeded to open the shower door while a resident was bathing inside, DPS reports state.

The suspect ogled the female student, then fled the scene when she cried out, DPS officials said in the report.

Student burns himself at Mo-Jo

A student burned his hand Wednesday afternoon while working in the Mosher-Jordan Residence Hall dining hall kitchen, according to DPS reports.

DPS officials stated that the student did not need an ambulance to take him to University Hospitals' emergency room or to University Health Services, but he did request DPS provide him with a ride.

The student waited in the Mosher-Jordan dining hall until DPS arrived to take him to M-Works, DPS reports state.

Student verbally assaulted at South Quad

A student called DPS on Wednesday evening to report an incident of assault that occurred the previous week. The woman said she was in a friend's room in South Quad Residence Hall when her friend's roommate verbally berated her.

The student said the man intimidated her and made her feel uncomfortable, so she left the room. Since then, she has received more threats from her friend's roommate, DPS reports state.

Space research equipment stolen

Space research equipment, estimated to cost more than $3,000, was stolen from the Space Research Building, DPS reports state.

The specialized laser equipment was originally claimed missing in late December. DPS officials stated that fliers were posted to track down the equipment's whereabouts. Since the fliers yielded no results, DPS was called Monday afternoon to officially report the equipment as stolen.

Trash can near Hill St. catches fire

The stone trash container on the corner of Hill and Tappan streets reportedly caught on fire Wednesday afternoon, according to DPS reports.

The person who called DPS to alert them of the fire, assured DPS that the fire had been smothered with snow, DPS reports state. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Cash stolen from Markley room

A Mary Markley Residence Hall resident discovered $20 was missing from her wallet when she returned to her room Tuesday afternoon, according to DPS reports.

DPS officials stated that the student had left her room unattended without locking the door. DPS has not identified any suspects in the theft.

WISE receives obscene message

An obscene message was sent to the Women in Science and Engineering program office Monday afternoon, DPS reports state. It is still unclear who sent the message, but no further messages have been sent, according to DPS reports.

DPS officials requested that Mosher-Jordan Residence Hall staff assess the situation and decide what action to take. They did not file a report.
