Fargas to miss entire season

The Michigan football team suffered its first official setback of the 1999 season last week, when it lost speedy sophomore halfback Justin Fargas for all of the 1999 season. March 9, Fargas spent four hours in surgery to have a new plate inserted in his broken right leg.

Blue left out of all-CCHA honors

The CCHA All-Conference Team, which was released yesterday, is composed of players from almost all of the league's best teams - Michigan State, Ohio State and Notre Dame, among others. But representatives from one team were notably absent from the award roster - Michigan.

Michigan's youth developed into integral part of winning season

In early October no one knew what to expect from the 1998-99 Michigan women's basketball team. Six months later, reflecting on a season that ended Sunday in a heartbreaking loss to Michigan State, the once nagging questions about the youth and inexperience of the team have been answered.

Softball moves up in standings

The Michigan softball team is looking up, and not at its own high expectations. The Wolverines will enter the Capitol City Classic Invitational Thursday tied with South Carolina for the No. 9 ranking in the nation. At 15-5 so far this season, with the Speedline Invitational championship trophy in their case, the Wolverines climbed five places in the polls this week from their previous ranking of 14.
