'Phantom Menace' beats negative hype

A long time a ago, in a galaxy not so far away (Brooklyn, NY, actually) my pregnant mother accompanied my father to a new movie called "Star Wars." That was the beginning of a long love affair with a special trilogy of films that has a unique place in American culture and the hearts of many people of all ages.

Festival of New Works showcases writers

The Festival of New Works began on Friday, May 21st with the Showcase for dramatic writing. It kicked off with "Rock Garden," a screenplay by Beth Winsten, which was performed at the Frieze Building's Trueblood Theater.

"The Ground Beneath Her Feet," by Salman Rushdie, opens abruptly with a vicious, bloody dream of human sacrifice, in which men "resembling the actor Christopher Plummer" torture and prepare to kill Vina Apsara, the emotionally tortured main character of the novel.

ICP blends several genres on new release 'Jeckel Brothers'

On May 25th a carnival will be coming to town. Get in line, find a flak jacket and get ready for the ride as the Insane Clown Posse drops "The Amazing Jeckel Brothers." "Jeckel Brothers" packs 17 insane tracks into a 70 minute barrage of rowdy mayhem.
