Website of the Week

PayMe.com

Let's image that you're trying to get rid of your ex-boyfriend's stuff. You decide to sell his calculator and mountain bike online at an online auction website like eBay or UBid. After posting the items online, you realize you are limited to means of payment. To accept a credit card online, you have to set up a merchant account, get the necessary software or hardware and pay lots of fees before even processing your first card. It is not economical for you to go through that process since you're only planning on selling a couple of products. You therefore can only accept checks for the products, a process that could take weeks before getting and clearing payment. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have some way of accepting credit cards online so that you wouldn't have to wait to receive and clear the check?

Say hello to PayMe.com. This Website allows you to send a bill to anyone via e-mail. The

recipient then follows an embedded link back to PayMe.com, where they process their credit card information with PayMe's system. Shortly thereafter, PayMe cuts you a check for the amount due. With PayMe's system, you can accept credit cards, checks and even bank transfers - without having to be a business. Short of cash, it's probably the simplest way to get paid online.
