NIT a blessing this time around

More than a few have felt witty enough to have fun with the acronym NIT. But members of the Michigan basketball team are making no such jokes. To them it's the National Invitational Tournament, and nothing different.

There's nothing like the confines of Yost; a trip down memory lane

Four years ago I made my first visit to the old barn on South State Street. I'll be honest with you, I didn't know much about Michigan hockey or college hockey in general for that matter. Sure, I knew the Wolverines had won the National Championship the previous year - I had seen Brendan Morrison's goal in overtime against Colorado College in the championship, and Mike Legg's amazing circus goal against Minnesota in the Regional Final on TV.

Stellar pitching fuels Michigan softball

Not unlike General Sherman's Union Army, the Michigan softball team is blazing through the south leaving a devastating path of destruction. With a season record of 12-6, the Wolverines have utilized their last three tournaments to test their pitching staff, solidify their lineup and reaffirm their status as the "leaders and best" among the softball community.

'M' splits Bayou trip

A day of rest may be what the Michigan men's tennis team needs after a tough weekend. The Wolverines traveled to Bayou country to face two of Louisiana's top teams, but did not return unscathed, having split their two weekend matches.
