Sometimes, what makes a team good are the same qualities movie-goers look for in an entertaining villain. For last night's match against the Toledo, the Michigan volleyball team pulled together in sweeping the Rockets 15-8, 15-6, and 15-6.

'Dynamics' key as unproven contribute in win

After losing two conference games against Michigan State and Ohio State, the Michigan volleyball team managed to win a relatively easy match against Toledo last night. Several youthful players off the bench, including outside hitter Chantel Reedus and middle blocker Erin Moore, were given some quality playing time.

DuBose offered to quit 'Bama after 1-2 start

TUSCALOOSA (AP) - Alabama coach Mike DuBose, whose team is off to its worst start in a decade, offered to resign 10 days ago. His offer was declined. The Birmingham News and The Tuscaloosa News reported Tuesday that DuBose made the gesture after Alabama was beaten 21-0 by Southern Mississippi on Sept. 16. DuBose confirmed he made the offer privately to athletic director Mal Moore in the locker room after the game.

ESPN's Gameday gears up for Ann Arbor invasion

Saturday morning, Ann Arbor will once again play host to "the worldwide leader in sports." ESPN will be making its second visit in two weeks in celebration of college football. Whereas Rich Eisen was reliving the Michigan-Michigan State rivalry at Dominick's, the crew of "College Gameday" will preview this upcoming weekend of football.
