Sugar, Kelemen receive awards

Melissa Sugar of the Michigan women's swimming team and Tealin Kelemen of the diving team were selected as Big Ten Athletes of the Week after impressive performances at the Wolverine Invitational this past weekend.

Sugar, a senior co-captain, won both the 100- and 200-meter freestyle races and also was part of four winning relays for the Wolverines. The freshman Kelemen earned her award after finishing second in both diving events with scores good enough to meet the NCAA zone diving requirements for the year.

Michigan used the scores of the two recognized athletes to tally a victory over Big Ten rival Illinois, 182-156.
