Temporary Quarters: Moving on a Dime

06/09/2006

A swarm of blue-uniformed moving men and two huge trucks made trip after trip carrying Student Publications paraphernalia from 420 Maynard Street to 413 E. Huron Street last Friday. Despite such predicaments as the disappearance of our computer server until 7:30 Friday evening, the intrepid Michigan Daily staff completed the first newspaper from the new digs at 4 a.m. Monday morning.

Alumni removed a number of beloved counters, drawers, and cabinets from the real Student Publications Building on Maynard Saturday morning.

The renovation contract has yet to be awarded; the bid deadline was extended to June sixth and five bids are now being analyzed. The university is likely to make the award this coming week.
