Alumni Talk with Robert Yoon

Named "one of the most influential people in journalism" by Mediaite in 2016, Robert Yoon is currently a Knight-Wallace Fellow at the University of Michigan. He serves as a Contributing Reporter and Analyst with Inside Elections, which provides nonpartisan analysis of campaigns for Senate, House, governor and president.

For more than 17 years, he was Director of Political Research at CNN. Working on five presidential campaign cycles since 2000, he has helped prepare eight different moderators for 30 presidential debates. He has won two Emmy Awards, five Emmy nominations, a Peabody Award, and two Headliner Awards, for contributions to CNN's election coverage, and for his work on CNN's investigation of the 9/11 terror plot. 

Before all of that, he worked as an Arts reporter at The Michigan Daily. He has a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard, and graduated with high honors from UM in 1995.
